LYTRO CAMERA

This is a new camera design by a company called Lytro.  The design of this camera is a two-tone elongated box 4.4 inches long and 1.6 inches square. At one end is the lens and at the other is an LCD touch-screen display; along the sides are power and shutter buttons, a USB port, and a touch-sensitive strip to move the F2 lens through its 8X zoom range.The three Lytro camera models sport a very different design on the outside, but their light-field technology inside is even more of a departure from conventional cameras.

Conventional digital cameras use lenses to focus a subject so it’s sharp on the image sensor. That means that for an in-focus part of the image, light from only one direction reaches the sensor. For light-field photography, though, light from multiple directions hits each patch of the sensor; the camera records this directional information, and after-the-shot computing converts it into something a human eye can understand.

The result is that a Lytro camera image is a 3D map of whatever was photographed, and that means people can literally decide what to focus on after they’ve taken the photo.

So with this technology you do not need to focus your camera on an image while you are taking your photographs.  You can just simply plug it into your computer and it comes with the technology to decide what you want to focus on.

ICON A5 SPORT AIRCRAFT

This is a design for a 2 seater sports airplane for the masses.  It is designed for personal use.  ICON A5 is lighter in weight and is amphibious with retractable landing gear for flying off in both water and land.  Different features of this aircraft include carbon fiber airframe, folding wings, and a unique engine that allows it to run on both aviation gas and auto.  With this airplane you do not need to think of any destination in order to spend your holiday because the ICON A5 can make your holiday unforgettable and absolutely safe.  It is safe because it has propeller guard and built-in parachute that can be easily used in case of any emergency, very useful aircraft.  The best thing about this aircraft is that when it is not in use you can just park it in your garage.  This was designed with the consumer in mind, a plane for everybody.  In the future I do believe that this will be the way to travel.

BUGATTI VEYRON SUPER SPORT. THE FASTEST CAR IN THE WORLD!

If you have the need for speed then you should check this baby out.  It is the fastest production road legal vehicle in the world and you can get this at the bargain price of $2.4 million dollars (2.08 million euros).  It has reached a top speed of 267mph and does 0-60 in 2.4 seconds.  It has an allunimium narrow angle 8 Liter W16 engine with 1200 hp.  The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport gets its power from a 16 cylinder engine helped by 4 bi-turbochargers with a displacement of 487.8 cu in. Because each cylinder has four valves, this means the Veyron SS has a total of 64 valves. The engine configuration is that same as combining two V8 engines which make it look like a W than a V.  Another feature in the Bugatti Veyron SS that makes it stand out is that it uses ten radiators, which help to keep the car cool after generating all that heat and speed. One radiator each for the engine oil, differential oil, transmission oil, and the AC system; at the same time there are three radiators each for the engine and the inter-coolers. Michelin designed special tires to meet the specs for which the Veyron was designed, high speeds. When replacing a set of tires for the Veyron SS, it costs $ 36,000.00 for a set of four.  The body design by Jozef Kabaň includes the use of carbon fiber material which has been refined to improve aerodynamic efficiency. The entire body of is made of all-carbon monococque which provides added torsion rigidity.

ON AIR WRIST WATCH

What does the ON AIR Wrist Watch do?

It shows time in an extraordinary minimal way. While LED display shows minutes in number, its position shows us the current hour. Display is also function as a light and set button. If you push once LED lights up. To set the time you need just to push in the center of the display for 5 seconds and LED flashes, here you push upper or lower corner of the display to set the hour and the left and right corner to set minutes.

So while the hand is pointer toward two as in the picture below the actual hand itself will tell you the minute which is thirty five.  I do think that this is a great product but I just hope you dont have bad eyesight.

THE NOKIA MORPH

The nokia morph is a really interesting design concept.  It could be the phone of the future.   Its a flexible phone that you can change depending on what you are doing with it.  The materials and components are stretchable, flexible, transparent and strong which enables you to literally change its shape and configerate itself to adapt to the task at hand.  A folded design would fit easily in a pocket and could lend itself ergonomically to being used as a traditional handset. An unfolded larger design could display more detailed information, and incorporate input devices such as keyboards and touch pads.  The design of this is amazing.  It is multi functional and new.  Everyone would want one.

ROTATION FOLDING BIKE CONCEPT

Cycling has become more popular in big cities as a faster means of transport to get around and also so it is more eco friendly.  I love the futuristic designs for bicycles.  This is just one example that I came across as a concept for a bicycle designed by Yirong Yang.  It is a folding bike concept that will allow the user to fold the bike when it is not in use and carry it with them.

Most of the affixations that you see on this bicycle/unicycle are adjustable such as the handlebars, the saddle or even the front wheel.  When you are done riding you can simply fold it and walk away carrying  it easily.

“AUDI SHARK”

This futuristic design of the “Audi Shark” was the winner of the 2009 World Auto Design Contest.  This would be the perfect car of the future.  This car still has the same properties of a conventional car but in a much more interesting structure.  It has the structure of a plane or a motorcycle.  Outside, the car has a system of peddles.  These peddles allow the car to speed up with balance and control and complete the concept of the car.  Shark’s front and back head lights are designed like big cylinders to fit the design of Audi.

The seats of the Shark are like motorcycle seats and thought for maximum comfort of the driver.  The design details and the design of the seat satisy the drivers who like speed.  That is why this car can be seen as the car of the future.  With its unique details it could be the one to look out for as a future prospect.

THE WINDOW PHONE

This is such an interesting design.  The Window Phone is a concept mobile phone that is able to change its appearance, just like a glass window as per the weather.  The design of the phone is a thin, clear and transparent sheet.  It changes its appearance in accordance with the weather so if it is a sunny day the transparent sheet will stay clear, if it is a rainy day the sheet becomes humid and it takes a dump outlook during snowy day.  The user can write text messages or draw pictures on the phone in different weather conditions which will later transform and show as SMS characters. The screen features sensitive interaction with the user and comprises the state of a window in different weather conditions.  All you have to do to write a text message id blow you breath on your phone and it enables you to write a text message.  Even though I think this is such an amazing design I am pesimistic as to the actual exixtance of this item.  I would buy one of these as it would be an amazing piece of design but I do believe it is just a concept and would be years before it would go into production if ever.

ENTANGLED JEWELLERY BY NIIRO

I just love these designs by Niiro.  They are so quirky and interesting.  These beautiful handmade pieces are marked by the innovation of irregularity, decorative netting and the uniqueness of the materials used.  Every piece of his stunning handmade jewellery is different and unique in every way.  I love the colors he uses to make it seem so dazzling and radiant.  Jewelery that glows.

This piece is from his entangled collection and is made from colored copper wire.  He achieved this look by entangling the wire almost like knitting it together.  I love his designs as each one has its own uniqueness and beauty.  Owning one of these pieces of spectacular jewellery would be a dream cone true but I will just have to wait and maybe create my own version of Niiros designs.

THE AMAZING MONEY TREE

The money tree is not supposed to be a piece of art but due to old customs around the UK it has been made into one.  This was not due to an inspired designer or nature but even more interesting by everyday passers by.  With hundreds of coins hammered into the tree trunk by people passing by gives this a stunning affect.  These trees are said to date back to the 1700’s where they were known as wishing trees.  Legend says that a person suffering from an illness would put a coin into the tree and it would take that illness away.  But if someone were to take that coin out it is said that they then would become ill.  I am not sure if this would work but it does leave us with this beautiful piece of art in the middle of the woods.  Years of pessimistic people has left us with this amazing piece of art and design in the middle of the woods.  These spectacular trees can be found in Cumbria and Portmeirion.
